Contributions to candidates and political committees in Massachusetts are subject to maximum amounts set by law.  Limits on the most common types of contributions are as follows (all limits are for a calendar year):


• The maximum amount an individual or PAC may donate to a candidate, candidate committee or PAC is $500 per year, with an aggregate limit on contributions by individuals to all state, county and local candidates in Massachusetts of $12,500 per year.
• Registered lobbyists may only contribute up to $200 per year to any candidate or political committee. Lobbyists are also subject to the individual aggregate limit of $12,500.
• Corporate contributions to candidates, PACs and parties are prohibited, as are contributions from PACs that are not registered with OCPF.
• Candidates and committees must maintain detailed records of all contributions, including the name and address of contributors. Recipients of contributions must also ask for the occupation and employer of those who give $200 or more in a calendar year.
• I am making this contribution with my own personal funds which will not be reimbursed by another person, corporation, or other entity.
