"Representing you in the past has always been a privilege. During my six years as your selectman, I always tried to be well informed, fair and understanding of what you wanted the town to be. I was also acutely aware of what you could afford. I had no personal agenda - except what was right for the town. As a member of a 5-person team, you are not always in the majority. But, before I stepped down, I made some tough decisions to send the Town in a positive direction. I was the only Selectman to vote against a single large-scale override. You always deserved to have a choice. I was also involved in hiring some of the key people in Harwich 's new management team, including helping to set into motion the opportunity to hire a new Town Administrator. None of that was easy. But rapid change has come at a cost. Even with some very smart and talented new Selectmen, we have lost the ability to remember the 300-year heritage of those who made Harwich what it is today and add to that the hopes and desires of those who have just recently arrived. I feel I can help, but I need your vote. Everyone Counts - That 's a promise." Presented By:
